Part of the Teen Talk Take and Teach CD series, this lesson was developed to help parents identify reasons teens use alcohol, explore and talk about their and their family's values related to alcohol, identify ways families influence teen alcohol use, and consider strategies for supporting their teens in making healthy decisions. All of the materials needed to facilitate a parent group or group of parents together with their teens is included on this CD including a facilitators guide, research background, presentation materials, handouts, resource lists, and an evaluation. This self-explanatory lesson can be facilitated by staff in Extension, schools, or public health agencies; professionals from faith or community-based organizations; as well as volunteers who work with parents. Other Teen Talk Take and Teach lessons are available on bullying (item # 08212), peers and peer pressure (item # 08211), and teen decision making on risky behaviors (item # 08210). |
